1. Narrative Text Tentang Binatang (Fabel)
The Ant and The Grasshopper
Once upon a time, there was an ant and a grasshopper who lived in a field. The ant was busy working, storing food for the winter. Meanwhile, the grasshopper was singing and playing all day, enjoying his leisure time.
One day, the grasshopper saw the ant working hard and asked, “Why are you working so hard? Why don’t you come and enjoy the beautiful day with me?”
The ant replied, “I’m storing food for the winter. I won’t be able to find food when it’s cold outside, and I don’t want to starve. You should also prepare for the winter.”
The grasshopper laughed and said, “Winter is still far away. Why should I worry about it now? I’ll just enjoy my life.”
When the winter came, the grasshopper was starving and went to the ant for help. The ant gave the grasshopper some food, but also taught him a valuable lesson.
“Moral of the story: It’s always wise to prepare for the future and not be lazy like the grasshopper. Hard work and preparation will pay off in the end.”
2. Narrative Text tentang Legenda (Legend)
The Legend of Tangkuban Perahu
Tangkuban Perahu is a legendary mountain located in West Java, Indonesia. According to the legend, there was a beautiful goddess named Dayang Sumbi who lived on the top of the mountain. One day, she was weaving on her balcony when she accidentally pricked her finger and a drop of blood fell onto her weaving. In her anger, she threw the weaving into the ground and it magically turned into a handsome prince named Sangkuriang.
Dayang Sumbi didn’t know that Sangkuriang was her son, and they fell in love and decided to get married. However, a wise old man who knew the truth warned Dayang Sumbi about the relationship and told her to stop the wedding.
When Sangkuriang found out that he was going to marry his own mother, he became angry and started a fight with her. During the fight, he kicked the Tangkuban Perahu mountain and created a big hole, which became a crater.
Nowadays, Tangkuban Perahu is a popular tourist attraction, and the legend of Dayang Sumbi and Sangkuriang is still told to this day.
“Moral of the story: Sometimes, we may not know the consequences of our actions, and it’s important to listen to wise counsel before making important decisions.”
3. Narrative Text tentang Mitos (Myth)
The Myth of Medusa
Medusa was a terrifying monster from Greek mythology who had snakes for hair and the ability to turn people into stone. According to the myth, Medusa was once a beautiful woman who was cursed by the goddess Athena. Athena cursed her after she caught Medusa having an affair with Poseidon, another god.
[quads id=1]After the curse, anyone who looked into Medusa’s eyes would be turned into stone. Many brave heroes tried to slay Medusa and claim her head, as it was said to have magical powers. One of these heroes was Perseus, who was given a magical sword and a shield by the gods to help him on his quest.
Perseus used his shield to look at Medusa’s reflection and avoid her gaze. He then used his sword to cut off her head. When he returned to the gods with Medusa’s head, they were impressed and turned it into a weapon that could petrify anyone who looked at it.
“Moral of the story: The consequences of our actions can have far-reaching effects, even beyond our own lifetimes. It’s important to think before we act and consider the impact that our choices may have on others.”
4. Narrative Text tentang Dongeng (Fairly Tale)
Cinderella
Cinderella is a popular fairy tale that tells the story of a young girl who is mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters but eventually finds happiness with the help of a fairy godmother. Cinderella’s father had remarried after her mother passed away, and her new stepfamily treated her poorly, forcing her to do all the housework and chores.
One day, a ball was announced at the palace, and Cinderella’s stepfamily was invited. Cinderella desperately wanted to go, but her stepmother refused to let her. However, with the help of her fairy godmother, she was able to attend the ball in a beautiful dress and glass slippers.
At the ball, Cinderella danced with the prince, but she had to leave before midnight, as her fairy godmother’s magic would only last until then. She left behind a glass slipper, which the prince used to find her and marry her.
The story of Cinderella has been retold in various forms and adaptations, but the underlying theme of perseverance and kindness in the face of adversity remains the same.
“Moral of the story: Good things come to those who are kind, patient, and persistent. Even in the face of adversity, it’s important to stay true to ourselves and never give up hope.”
5. Narrative Text: Cerita Pendek
The Trip to the Beach
Last summer, my family and I took a trip to the beach. We woke up early and packed all our beach essentials like towels, sunscreen, and snacks. The drive took a few hours, but we passed the time by playing games and singing along to our favorite songs.
When we arrived at the beach, we were greeted by a beautiful stretch of sand and the sound of waves crashing against the shore. We set up our umbrellas and chairs and started to explore the area. We played frisbee, built sandcastles, and swam in the ocean.
At lunchtime, we had a picnic on the beach with sandwiches and fruit. Afterward, we went for a walk along the shoreline and collected seashells. As the day went on, we took breaks to relax and read under the umbrella.
As the sun started to set, we packed up our things and headed back to the car. We were tired but happy from our day at the beach. The drive home was quiet as we all dozed off from the sun and fresh air.
It was a simple day, but one that we will always remember as a fun family adventure.
“Moral of the story: Sometimes, the most memorable experiences come from spending quality time with the people we love in the great outdoors.”
